Some times God's little plans for life are better that are big plans for a day. I posted some thoughts about Father's Day over on The Good Husband Blog, today. And instead of retyping it here, I thought I'd just link the two together. So check out today's post at TGHB!
The Good Husband Blog 6.17.14
Sunday, I celebrated my 16th Father's Day. I have been a dad for 16 years. Crazy when I think about it...16 years. I have 5 kids. The oldest is 16, obviously. My youngest is 5. 4 boys. 1 girl.
A couple of weeks before Father's Day, my wife asked me, "What do you want to do for Father's Day?" I said, "Nothing." Life has been busy, as of late, and all I really wanted to do was to have a day with NOTHING to do. All I wanted to do was go to church, worship, preach, be with God's people, then come home, have lunch, watch NASCAR, and take a nap. That's it. And up till a few days before it looked
like I might get what I wanted, "Nothing."
But as it happens, calendars change, and all of a sudden, my day of nothing became a day of something.
