Singing the Praises of my Wife

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
- Proverbs 31:30

Charming? Yes.

Beauty? Absolutely.

Fears God? Oh yeah.

There's no doubt that one of the greatest blessings in my life is my wife. She is truly a Proverbs 31 woman. This past holiday season has proven once again just how amazing she is.

The holidays for any family come with their various challenges and stresses. From the shopping to the traveling to the visiting to the coming home again, there's a lot to consider and prepare for. Fortunately, we don't travel very much when it comes to Christmas. Being a pastor, you kinda have to stay local, especially when you are the only pastor. So this Christmas we stayed home. But while Christmas week was quiet, the week that followed was anything but. We welcomed family all week long. With the family, we also hosted a New Year's Eve party with about 30 adults and students. Add to that a snow storm, basketball games, tournaments, and practices, a work schedule, a church schedule, and all five kids home for a full two weeks.

Needless to say, it has been busy. But through it all, my wife has been absolutely amazing. Not only did she do an incredible job with Christmas, she was flawless the week after. She entertained, welcomed, cared for, and fed, everyone who came into our house.

Proverbs 31:28 & 29 reads, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'”

As part of my #epic year, one of the things I hope to do, is to sing the praises of my wife. There are many women who have done excellent, but when it comes to my wife, she truly has surpassed them all.
